A newly-launched children’s home provider has been shortlisted for a prestigious industry award, it has been announced.
Nuneaton-based Almond Care Children’s Services is shortlisted in the Children’s Services category at the LaingBuisson Awards 2021.
The firm was founded by experienced nurse, Julia Senah using the same principles that underpin complex care in the home provider, Almond Care, which she established from her hospital bed more than 10 years ago.
Like Almond Care, Almond Care Children’s Services brings a focus on person-centred care, refusing to reduce clients to their circumstances or difficulties. Instead, Almond Care Children’s Services looks to also meet the wider needs of the children in its care.
The rigorous judging process for the LaingBuisson Awards saw the firm make a detailed written submission to the judges, setting out in detail how its distinctive approach has enabled children in its care to make rapid progress.
Julia Senah, Managing Director and Founder at Almond Care Children’s Services, said: “The children we look after are some of the most vulnerable in the country and have complex needs.
“Our aim has always been to meet their specific needs but also to address their wider needs, enabling them to live as normal a life as is possible in the circumstances.
“I am hopeful that our services will help children change course and reap the benefits of their time with us for the rest of their lives.”
The winners of the LaingBuisson Awards will be announced at a ceremony in London on 18 November 2021.
