The Home

The home is registered for 5 young people that achieved Outstanding in 2021. The home takes a therapeutic approach to support the young people and this a keen area that the home wishes to develop further. The home will have a DFE registered school that will be attached to the home with a separated DFE regestraion. This will require the manager to work closely with the head of education. The home has vast amount of potential and has plenty of space for the young people.

Requirements:

Previous registered manager and have received an Ofsted ratings of Good or above.

QCF 5 in leadership and management CYP and have a minimum of 2 years management experience.

Experience in Learning Disabilities, EBD, SEMH or Complex Health Needs

What we offer:

· Salary £42,500 – £46,500 per annum

· Annual leave entitlement: 25 days, plus bank holidays, Plus additional day after 1st year of service for birthday

· Bonuses: Ofsted Rating (Good and above) and Registration

As a Team Leader, you will lead a small team within the home to deliver the best possible care to children. You will identify areas for continuous improvement and adopt a therapeutic approach to care, leading by example. You will champion quality and lead by example to ensure that the home develops and maintains high quality of care,

The ideal candidates will be close to achieving or qualified to QCF Level 3 or above for Children and Young People

You will integrate as part of the rota, undertaking shifts and sleep-ins as required and will help to organise the rota and tasks for your team. The role is a great development opportunity with lots of new skills to learn and a chance to really make a difference to the children in our care.

Our ideal candidate will be a flexible and compassionate individual, looking for a career in care and able to demonstrate a passion for the role. Previous care experience is preferable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Head of Education

We’re looking for a Head Teacher to join our Steps 2 Success Program

You will be joining the team at Almond Care Children’s Services in the development of our new residential care & education provision for 6 young people aged between 6 – 14 on admission. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone that wants to grow with a forward-thinking organisation.

Our ultimate aim is to reduce the risk of children remaining in long term residential care and support the transition into foster care of home with family, and we are therefore excited to pioneer this bespoke early intervention strategy for young people.

Our Head of Education will be responsible for development and delivering of the school vision and ethos, which inspires and motivates pupils, staff and all other members of the school community. This includes taking the lead with the registration of the school with DFE.

As Headteacher, you will promote a relentless focus on the quality of education and delivery of a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum that meets the needs of children and young people along with producing positive outcomes. You will also adopt a multidisciplinary approach to promote the best possible care and education for young people. You will have a Degree and Teaching qualifications.

Requirements
Experience and qualifications required for this Head Teacher position include:

  • QTS and higher degree or equivalent eg Masters or SENCO qualification (NPQH is desirable but not essential)
  • Proven leadership skills in an educational setting and a successful track record as a teacher
  • A strong understanding of SEND, codes of practice, National Curriculum, legislation and how they apply to young people with special needs
  • A thorough understanding of child Safeguarding and an understanding of the rights of young people
  • Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude and approach to problem solving
  • Experience with registering a school DFE and Ofsted
