What has been going on in Almond Care Children’s Services homes this month?

This month, much like many others, has been a busy month across the homes within Almond Care Children’s Services.

Filled with new experiences, achievements, growing independence and lots of fun, the team at Almond Care certainly have been busy.

We are incredibly proud of the children and young people in our care, along with the teams that dedicate themselves to supporting them.

Settling in at Sunflower House

September has brought new beginnings for one child in Sunflower House as she began her journey at secondary school.

The young person has settled into secondary school brilliantly and has already started making new friends. She has embraced this exciting chapter of her life with confidence.

Back at home, we have been having a bit of a makeover and we must say, it looks beautiful.

This month we have also placed a focus on family time. The children have had the opportunity to spend meaningful time with the people who are important to them.

Bluebell House gets a furry friend … or two!

This month, Bluebell House has had two new admissions, Maui and Sean Mendez – though they look a bit different from how you might be imagining them.

Instead of an animated demi-god and a pop sensation, our newest admissions are two one-month-old rabbits who have already become very popular with the children and staff.

Apart from our new fuzzy friends, the children have had a month filled with arts, crafts and creative activities so that the children can have new experiences.

Reaching new milestones at Rainbow House

This month at Rainbow House, we have been taking steps towards independence, confidence and preparing for adulthood.

There has been some fantastic progress with independent living skills, including learning to shave, shopping more independently and becoming increasingly confident when communicating wants, needs and choices.

These everyday achievements represent important steps towards greater independence and are a real reflection of the consistent support and encouragement being provided by the team.

Out and about at Acorn House

The child at Acorn House have been spending some much-needed time outside before it starts to get cold.

The child has been on some fantastic trips and learning experiences, including visiting Topical Birdland, Cadbury’s World, Nature World and the Prison Museum.

These activities provide so many learning opportunities, exploring new environments, building confidence and most importantly, having fun together.

Almond Care Children’s Services provides for all needs as well as physical

This month has shown that so much can happen across our homes every single day.

From starting school to getting a new pet, the children at Almond Care are committed to having fun every day.
